The Lyra is a ground-based, tracked, radiation characterisation and swabbing inspection ROV. Lyra improves the safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness of hazardous inspections in confined spaces, such as ducts in nuclear facilities, highlighting areas of radiological contamination as well as swabbing areas of interest for later analysis. Utilizing an on-board RadEye G10 gamma detector, a RadEye SX twinned with a Ludlam 44-3B probe, and client defined EPDs, a full radiological characterisation can be completed of any space. The integrated 2D lidar, lighting and cameras offer the operator simple control and localisation within the environment.
Available in both tethered and battery operated configurations, the Lyra can be configured for a range of different environments dependent on the need of the user. Client defined sensor packages can also be integrated on request. Built and designed to remove humans from hazardous inspection tasks, while offering data otherwise unattainable through other means, the Lyra can aid in a range of decommissioning tasks.
